From May 20th to 23rd, the 7th XCMG International Customer Festival, themed “Engineering Technology Leading, Equipping a Bright Future”, was grandly held in Xuzhou, Jiangsu Province, known as the “Capital of China’s Construction Machinery”. More than 2,000 customers, partners, and industry experts from over 80 countries and regions around the world gathered in Pengcheng to witness the latest achievements of XCMG in the fields of intelligence, unmanned operations, and green development, kicking off a global technological feast in the construction machinery industry.
Empowered by technology, a hundred devices put on a “super mechanical show”
The core part of this year’s customer festival – the demonstration of construction machinery scenes – was spectacular at the Jiawang Comprehensive Test Field of XCMG Group. In the nearly 10,000-square-meter exhibition area, over a hundred XCMG machines appeared simultaneously. Through three major sections – dynamic demonstrations, static displays, and interactive experiences for the audience – the hardcore strength of “Made in China” was comprehensively presented.
In the mining construction scenario, the XE950G Pro excavator works collaboratively with the XG110 wide-body dump truck, and its highly efficient collaborative ability is remarkable. When traditional equipment was blocked due to road collapse, the all-electric unmanned excavator XE215E and the electric loader XC968-EV quickly took over the scene. These two “green giants” have achieved zero-emission operations with their autonomous positioning, path planning, and precise loading technologies. The multi-line lidar and AI algorithms they are equipped with have amazed overseas customers: “This is not only a device, but also the intelligent brain of future construction sites!”
The road machinery exhibition area witnessed a miraculous “40-minute road renewal”. The bulldozer D560 is as stable as a rock on the rough road surface. The motor grader GR2605T completes the leveling with millimeter-level precision. The cold recycling machine XLZ2303K converts waste road surface materials into new roadbeds. The roller XS365 completes the final compaction with a vibration force of 730kN. This “full life cycle solution” made Saudi businessman Apdul say straightforwardly: “XCMG has redefined the efficiency and environmental protection standards of road construction.”
In the green transformation, the proportion of new energy products exceeds 50%
In response to the “dual carbon” goals, XCMG has for the first time recommended new energy machinery as its main models at this year’s customer festival. Among the new products on display, green equipment such as pure electric unmanned excavators, electric loaders, and high-voltage lithium battery forklifts accounted for more than 50%. Among them, the industry’s first 300V voltage platform compact telescopic boom forklift XT2506 E has become the focus of the entire event with its 50-minute fast charging and zero-emission performance.
Yang Dongsheng, the chairman of XCMG Machinery, said, “We have established a new energy research institute, focusing on pure electric, hybrid, and hydrogen energy technology routes, and working with partners in the industrial chain to break through core technologies such as power batteries and BMS.” At present, XCMG has launched benchmark products such as the world’s largest tonnage pure electric loader and unmanned rigid mining trucks, accelerating the marketization process of electric construction machinery.
Intelligent upgrading and unmanned clusters are reshaping the industry ecosystem
From exploring unmanned driving technology in 2016 to achieving the world’s largest unmanned cluster construction in 2020, XCMG is leading the industry towards the transformation of “smart construction sites”. At the customer festival site, the “intelligent team” composed of unmanned rollers and pavers can be controlled via tablet computers. Its path planning and automatic obstacle avoidance functions left Australian purchaser Mike exclaiming, “From single-machine intelligence to unit coordination, XCMG has achieved a qualitative leap in construction efficiency.”
The special session on aerial work machinery was also full of highlights. Six XGA20ACK-li articulated boom trucks completed highly challenging maneuvers with 100% coordination, while ten XG0807HA scissor lifts formed a “wave-breaking formation” that rose and fell to the music, demonstrating XCMG’s profound accumulation in the field of intelligent control.
Global layout, with international revenue accounting for 46%
As one of the earliest Chinese construction machinery enterprises to “go global”, XCMG’s products have been exported to 195 countries and regions, with overseas revenue accounting for 46%. During this customer festival, XCMG signed multiple agreements with global partners, covering areas such as mining machinery and emergency rescue equipment. Among them, the “Material Transportation Decarbonization Innovation Award” project, in collaboration with an Australian enterprise, has become a model of green and low-carbon transformation.
Yang Dongsheng announced: “By 2030, XCMG’s scale will double again, and the proportion of international revenue will exceed 60%.” At present, XCMG has formed a full value chain advantage of “research, production, supply, sales, service, and finance”, and its overseas subsidiaries and dealer networks cover more than 95% of the countries and regions along the “Belt and Road”.
Cultural integration and technological feats bring out the charm of the city
In addition to the technical display, this year’s customer festival also incorporates historical and cultural elements of Xuzhou. At the opening ceremony, the drone formation used the night sky as the canvas and presented “Welcome” in eight languages. The Hanfu show, the performance of the “Great Wind Song,” and the mechanical neon lights complemented each other, presenting a “convergence of the past and the present” audio-visual feast for merchants from all over the world.
From “Steel Forest” to “Green Intelligent Manufacturing”, XCMG’s 7th International Customer Festival not only showcased the technological leap of China’s construction machinery but also conveyed the determination of “Made in China” to embrace the world and lead the future. As Yang Dongsheng said, “We are willing to join hands with global partners to equip a better tomorrow with technology.”
